This volume contains a substantial collection of German patriotic, student, drinking, folk and popular songs, each printed with staff musical notation, making it both a literary and musical document of its time. The book opens with an engraved pictorial title page and is followed by a typographic title page listing the contents: I. Vaterlandslieder II. Burschen- und Trinklieder III.
