Morasko fell on Earth around 5000 years ago, creating seven craters. Among those seven craters, 5 have lakes. The biggest one is 100 meters in diameter and 11 meters deep. The first meteorite found at Morasko was uncovered in 1914 by German soldiers working on the construction of a military fortification. Since then, many further fragments have been found. Since 1976 the craters are in a protected area that receives tourists every day. It is located near the city of Poznań, Poland. Morasko is classified as an IAB-MG iron meteorite.
