Pierfrancesco Cravel - Bordopsats - "Liconi" (Lago Alpine) - rustfrit stål
Design
The Liconi centerpiece, designed by Pierfrancesco Cravel for Alessi in 2012, is a sculptural object inspired by the Alpine landscape of the Aosta Valley in northern Italy. The design is based on the topography of Lake Liconi, translating the surrounding mountains and water surface into an abstract, three-dimensional form. Rather than a decorative motif, the landscape itself becomes the object, positioning the piece between functional design and contemporary sculpture. It was produced as part of the Officina Alessi collection, which focuses on experimental and conceptual design.

Distinctive Features
What distinguishes this piece is its direct link to geography and digital mapping. The form was developed using stereoscopic elevation data of the actual lake and its surroundings, resulting in a precise yet poetic interpretation of natural terrain. The reflective surface enhances the illusion of water and depth, reinforcing the conceptual reference to the Alpine environment. As such, the object functions both as a centerpiece and as a miniature representation of a specific place.
Dimensions and Material
Approximate dimensions: 35.2 cm (length) × 23.5 cm (width) × 8.8 cm (height).
Material: high-polish 18/10 stainless steel.
The mirror-polished steel emphasizes light, reflection, and surface contours, highlighting the sculptural qualities of the design rather than purely utilitarian use.
Condition
In good used condition - some signs of wear and tear - see pictures
