An early 20th‑century Japanese folio album of Korin (Rimpa) School designs, finely printed on thick paper and bound in a decorative silk‑covered case with purple tie‑cords. The atmospheric boards carry a cloud motif with a vertical calligraphic title slip and red seal, typical of deluxe Meiji–Taisho art‑reproduction volumes produced to celebrate the work of Ogata Korin and his followers.
Inside, the album opens to pages of vertical Japanese text in small seal‑style characters, followed by sections introduced by bold cartouche titles; these explain and contextualise the accompanying Korin School prints, making the book both a visual object and an important reference to the Rimpa aesthetic. The contents are clean and bright, with only light spotting and handling marks to the margins and inner edges.
Also included is the woven grass outer case which is damaged and in two parts.
There are 31 pages of text, 21 print illustrations, 2 blank pages and 2 pages with handpainted illustrations, all the illustrations are on thicker board, 4 pages appear to have been removed.
