Medieval Bronze Seal Ring – AD 1000 to 1400 – 22x18 mm – 3.07 g
This bronze seal ring features a circular bezel engraved with a stylized geometric motif, possibly representing a heraldic symbol or protective emblem. The incised decoration is framed by a radiating pattern, which may have added prominence when pressed into wax. The ring is proportionally slender, with a narrow band and oval hoop, typical of functional rings used in administrative or personal identification during the medieval period.
The green patina, developed over centuries, attests to its burial and age. Despite minor encrustations and natural surface wear, the engraved design remains visible. The ring’s lightweight construction and modest dimensions suggest it was likely worn regularly, perhaps by a lower-ranking noble, cleric, or merchant.
