Punkt 099. islamisk Bronze Ring - Middelalderen 10.-14. århundrede e.Kr. (Ingen mindstepris)

Medieval Bronze Ring – AD 10th to 14th Century – 20 mm – 1.40 g This finely crafted medieval bronze ring represents a personal adornment from the High to Late Middle Ages, likely worn as a signet or symbolic ring. The circular bezel is engraved with a geometric motif composed of intersecting linear incisions, a design characteristic of medieval folk and devotional symbolism, often associated with protection or identity. The ring features a slender hoop that expands slightly toward the bezel, indicating functional yet purposeful craftsmanship. The engraved surface shows intentional tooling rather than decorative excess, suggesting everyday wear by a free individual rather than high nobility. The surface patina, with green and brown tonal variations, is consistent with long-term burial and natural copper alloy oxidation. The wear and patina are consistent with medieval use and archaeological recovery. • Material: Bronze • Dimensions: 20 mm • Weight: 1.40 g • Date: ca. AD 10th–14th century • Condition: very good condition An evocative example of medieval personal jewelry, reflecting the restrained aesthetics and symbolic language of everyday life in the Middle Ages. Provenance: Acquired from an auction house in 2025, previously owned by a collector from the South of Germany, acquired in the 1980s.
