Feathers in Burmese amber, details preserved clearly
Burmese amber, also known as Burmite, is a fossilized resin primarily originating from the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient life forms, including insects, plants, and other organisms commonly trapped within it. This amber is estimated to be around 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the appearance of Tyrannosaurus rex!). It has a rich golden-yellow color with reddish-brown undertones and high transparency, making it highly valued by both collectors and scientists, providing us with a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.
We use PE boxes to store each piece of amber, ensuring they are safe and easy to collect.
