Yupik Eskimo maske - Inuit - i stilen - Alaska (Ingen mindstepris)
In the Arctic regions of North America, known as Inuit Nunangat, live the Inuit people, related to the Yupit, or Yupiks, of Alaska and Siberia. While maintaining certain traditional customs, the Yupik Eskimos make ceremonial masks in a wide variety of sizes and shapes. Made from several pieces of wood joined together, the mask is very spacious. On each occasion, often inspired by a dream, the shaman tells the sculptor the function and shape of the required mask, which he will then wear. The masks are connected to the souls (yua) of various animals or fish, which must be honored through rituals. This mask is in Yupik style. Good condition.
