Vase - Keramik - Japan - buet hane (Ingen mindstepris)

Description: This vase is a compact, sculptural ceramic piece with a warm, earthy presence and a strong sense of texture. The form is softly oval and slightly flattened, almost egg-shaped, with a small opening at the top. Its silhouette feels organic and grounded, with gently rounded contours rather than sharp edges. The surface is covered in a thick, crackled glaze in tones of ochre, honey, and warm brown. The pronounced crazing creates a network of fine lines across the body, giving it a rustic, timeworn character. On the front, a recessed niche has been carved into the clay, framing a small relief of a rooster. The rooster is rendered in low relief, its curved tail and upright posture clearly defined. The glaze pools more deeply in this recessed area, creating subtle tonal variation and enhancing the dimensionality of the motif. The imagery evokes rural life and traditional symbolism—roosters often represent vigilance, renewal, and the coming of dawn. The base shows darker, earthier tones where the glaze thins, adding to the natural, kiln-fired aesthetic. The piece has a strong folk-art quality, balancing sculptural simplicity with textured surface and narrative detail. It would work beautifully as a small accent vase or decorative object, appreciated as much for its tactile glaze and relief carving as for its function. NOTICE

The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post depends on the situation.
It takes about 3~4 weeks to receive normally.Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
