Scuola inglese (XX) - Still life with fruit

The work depicts a rich decorative still life with fruit, flowers and table objects, including bunches of grapes, apples, cherries, citrus fruits, a central jug, a dark bottle, a decorated plate and a light drapery on the right side. The composition is lively and well balanced, with strong contrasts between the dark background and the bright colours of the fruit, flowers and fabric.
The painting has a pleasant decorative quality, with visible brushwork, warm tones and a classic still-life arrangement typical of English School still-life painting from the second half of the 20th century. The signature appears to read “R. White” or similar, placed in the lower right corner.
