Dial and Hands
The dial is a captivating deep black, providing a stark and elegant contrast to the gilt cursive Seiko Crown typography and the lower Diashock 19 Jewels text. The applied gold-tone faceted hour markers catch the light beautifully, matched by the classic gold-tone dauphine hands. Close inspection reveals honest vintage aging, including light surface spotting across the black finish and minor oxidation on the hands and indices. The 33 millimeter stainless steel case exhibits classic mid-century dress watch proportions with its elegant straight lugs and smooth polished bezel. The case shows normal, honest signs of wear, including superficial scratches and minor softening of the lug edges consistent with regular use over the decades. The snap-on stainless steel caseback is cleanly engraved with the J14036 reference number on the exterior, while the interior reveals beautiful engine-turned perlage finishing alongside the serial number and stainless steel stamping. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that presents clearly, showing only faint handling marks that do not impede the view of the striking gilt dial.

Movement
Inside beats the historically significant Seikosha caliber 560 manual wind movement, featuring 19 jewels and Diashock shock protection. The movement plates are clean and clearly stamped with the Seikosha branding, jewel count, and caliber designation. Running in vintage operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the era. The timegrapher result reads -54 to -60 seconds per day.

Strap
The watch is paired with a handsome black textured leather strap, featuring contrasting white perimeter stitching that perfectly complements the monochrome and gilt aesthetic of the timepiece. The strap is secured with a standard stainless steel pin buckle.

Condition
This timepiece is in good vintage condition. It displays honest, age-appropriate wear across the stainless steel case and caseback, while the black gilt dial remains highly attractive despite minor surface spotting and patina on the gold-tone hardware. The movement is fully operational and presents beautifully upon internal inspection.
