Beskrivelse fra sælger

Photos present a stoneware and a glass beer stein made in the late 1800s with strong stylistic art nouveau influences.

The stoneware beer stein was created most probably in the late 19th century in Westerwald region from Germany. Decorated with floral motifs in style of art nouveau, the stein is coloured in tones of blue and gray typical from Westerwald pottery workshops. Condition of item is good, presenting a brownish coloration on a side probably from firing process, with no major damages, only two minor hair lines at mouth region and slight use signs.

Dimensions: Height - 17cm, Diameter - 10cm, Weight - 457g.

The imposing glass beer stein was also was manufactured in Germany in the second half of 19th century. Shaped into a mold, its glass is ornated in abstract curved and circular paterns, suggesting floral motifs, wich surround the main element - a cartoonish designed heart. The robust handle was attached to the body after casting and was finished through polish glass cut techniques. Its pewter lid is decorated with what seem to be inverted gothic windows and their quatrefoil rosettes. Two deer horns holding a crown serve for the thumb lever. Condition of this stein is poor, presenting a lot of chips and scratches, altough remaining an uncommon impressive decorative piece.

Dimensions: Height - 18cm, Base Diameter - 10cm, Weight - 1.49kg.
