Beskrivelse fra sælger
Striking French architectural ornament in the Louis XV Revival style, featuring a finely modelled female figure framed by elaborate Rococo scrollwork, floral garlands and decorative openwork detailing. Pieces of this type were popular during the Napoleon III period and were used to embellish doors, furniture, wall panels and prestigious interior spaces.
The central female figure, surrounded by flowing foliage and ornamental curves, reflects the romantic and theatrical design language that characterized French decorative arts in the late 19th century. The openwork construction gives the piece a remarkable sense of depth and elegance while allowing light to pass through the ornament.
Finished in an aged white paint layer with attractive wear and patina, the ornament possesses a strong decorative presence and authentic period character. It works beautifully as a wall decoration, architectural fragment or statement piece in both classical and eclectic interiors.
Origin: France (attributed)
Style: Louis XV Revival / Napoleon III
Period: circa 1880–1920
Material: Cast iron with aged white painted finish
Dimensions: 52 cm high × 17 cm wide
Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear, paint loss and surface oxidation consistent with age and use.
A highly decorative and evocative French architectural fragment, combining sculptural beauty with the timeless elegance of the Rococo Revival period.
