Beskrivelse fra sælger
AMA • Pope (1985) - " Knight Shift " - McDonald’s & Batman - 50 x 70 cm - 2/20
Original creation by Pope, large format 50 x 70 cm, on Hahnemühle 200 g artistic paper.
Born from my childhood fascination with superheroes, this work confronts them with a reality much dirtier: that of the adult world, marginalization and odd jobs. The vigilante has left Gotham's rooftops for the back alley of a fast-food restaurant. Red apron, cigarette lit, vacant gaze: the hero has saved the city, but the city has forgotten him.
The image is deliberately brutal and ironic. The myth’s armor meets the disposable worker’s uniform. The heroic symbol is crushed by the machine he thought he was fighting. More glory, more recognition: only a night shift, a cigarette break and the cold smell of frying.
Fine Art print, 12 colors on Hahnemühle 200 g paper, for precise, matte, glare-free rendering, with deep blacks, sharp details and faithful color reproduction.
Edition limited to 20 copies for 2026.
Signature and numbering integrated directly into the artwork.
Certificate of authenticity sent by email after the sale.
The visible numbering on the photos is shown as an example. The delivered artwork will bear the edition number indicated in this listing.
The artwork is produced to order by a professional printing laboratory, then carefully rolled and shipped in appropriate packaging to preserve the print during transport.
Who is Pope?
Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and amazed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope primarily draws inspiration from the world around him but also through currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat to name but a few.
Whether it’s a gift, a keepsake or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his urban art passion through street art and pop art creations (limited or not) addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, products of the agri-food and fashion industries (sports, sneakers...).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously distort labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to assess the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unfounded claim will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
