Beskrivelse fra sælger

Magnificent Pair of Art Deco Architectural Bookends - Portoro & Siena Marble with Green Onyx Accents - c. 1920-1930

A striking and heavy pair of original Art Deco architectural bookends dating from the 1920s–1930s.
This set features an exceptional combination of three distinct, luxurious natural stones assembled in a geometric, tiered modernist design.

Materials & Construction:
- Main Frame: Deep black Nero Portoro marble featuring intense, natural golden-yellow veining.
- Central Curved Accent: Richly layered Sienese/Siena marble with warm ochre, terracota, and orange sedimentary bands.
- Geometric Elements: Translucent light-green onyx blocks (a cylindrical roll at the top and a rectangular base block at the front) providing a superb color contrast.

Condition:
Good antique condition, consistent with age and almost a century of use. The marble retains a lovely polished gloss and vibrant colors. As typical for authentic heavy stone pieces from this era, there are minor flea bites and small, discreet chips on some of the sharp upper corners and edges (clearly visible in the detailed photographs). No major structural cracks or restorations.

Dimensions (per piece):
- Height: 14 cm
- Width: 13 cm
- Depth: 8 cm

The product will be professionally packed and sent safely to your address by local post.
The pictures of the product are made with the highest possible resolution, precisely to capture possible small defects (small scratches, stains, defect), the pictures are part of the product description.
