Vintage Omega Cal. 30 T2 – Black Honeycomb Dial, from 1940

An elegant vintage Omega manual-winding wristwatch housed in a steel case and powered by the celebrated Omega calibre 30 T2 movement.
The watch has a particularly attractive black restored honeycomb-textured dial, complemented by applied gilt Arabic numerals and hour markers, gilt hands and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock. The sharply defined geometric surface creates a distinctive waffle / honeycomb effect, giving the dial considerable depth and character under different lighting conditions.
Dial
The restored black dial features a finely executed honeycomb / waffle texture, clearly visible across the entire surface.
It is fitted with:
-applied gilt Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9 o’clock,
-applied faceted gilt hour markers,
gilt dauphine-style hour and minute hands,
-subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock,
-applied Omega symbol and Omega signature.
The combination of the textured black background and warm gilt details gives the watch a very refined and distinctive vintage appearance.
Case
The watch is fitted with a steel case of classic mid-century proportions, with elegantly curved lugs and a polished bezel.
The case shows normal signs of age and previous use consistent with a vintage watch.
The inner case back is signed:

and carries the case numbers:
