Stylo-plume Conway Stewart No. 286, fabriqué en Angleterre, datant vraisemblablement de la fin des années 1930 / début des années 1940.
Très belle finition en celluloïd marbré vert et noir, particulièrement lumineuse, avec attributs dorés, clip Conway Stewart à extrémité en losange et bague dorée sur le capuchon.
Le corps porte l’inscription permettant d’identifier le modèle No. 286.
Le stylo est équipé de sa plume Conway Stewart en or 14 carats, marquée CONWAY STEWART – 14 CT GOLD – ENGLAND.
La plume présente une certaine souplesse et une variation de trait, comme le montre l’essai d’écriture photographié. Elle peut être décrite comme semi-flexible.
Remplissage traditionnel à levier (lever filler).
Longueur fermé : environ 128 mm.
Le stylo a été testé avec de l’encre : le système de remplissage fonctionne et le stylo écrit correctement.
Il n’a pas été démonté ni restauré par le vendeur. La section étant fermement en place, aucune tentative de démontage forcé n’a été effectuée afin de préserver le celluloïd ancien.
Bel état général pour un instrument d’écriture âgé d’environ 80 ans. Le celluloïd vert marbré a conservé un très bel aspect et une belle profondeur. Les attributs métalliques présentent une patine et des traces d’usage normales compte tenu de l’âge.
Un très beau Conway Stewart britannique d’avant-guerre / période de guerre, particulièrement décoratif dans cette finition Green Marble, avec plume en or 14 ct et mécanisme fonctionnel.

Conway Stewart No. 286 fountain pen, made in England and most probably dating from the late 1930s / early 1940s.
A particularly attractive example in green and black marbled celluloid, with gold-coloured trim, Conway Stewart diamond-ended clip and a single gold-coloured cap band.
The barrel imprint identifies the pen as a No. 286.
Fitted with a Conway Stewart 14 ct gold nib, marked CONWAY STEWART – 14 CT GOLD – ENGLAND.
The nib shows some flexibility and noticeable line variation, as illustrated by the photographed writing sample, and may be described as semi-flexible.
Traditional lever-filling system.
Length capped: approximately 128 mm.
The pen has been tested with ink: the filling mechanism works and the pen writes correctly.
The pen has not been dismantled or restored by the seller. As the section is firmly seated, no attempt has been made to force its removal, in order to avoid damaging the vintage celluloid.
