Artwork Overview:

When daylight disappears, three voices remain.

Against a deep indigo ground, a nocturnal assembly has begun. On the left, a monumental face peers through two crown-like eyes; at the centre, an immense yellow crown overwhelms a smaller mask. To the right, a solitary eye rises from a triangular body inscribed with cryptic signs beneath a radiating star. Near the lower edge, a partially concealed figure appears to have entered late—as though the dreamer has stumbled into a meeting held inside their own mind.

In Night Council, ARVY turns deliberately naïve, expressionistic figures into a psychological scene about the decisions made in private. The three presences might embody instinct, ambition and doubt: competing forces that awaken after the public self falls silent. Their roles remain fluid, however. No figure clearly rules, and no verdict is revealed.

The nocturnal palette gives the yellow, green, red and white marks an almost luminous charge. Scraped edges, exposed corrections and uneven lines preserve thought in motion rather than polishing it into certainty. Initially resembling a myth from an unknown culture, the painting becomes increasingly personal—a portrait of the conversations we conduct alone. Its presence can shift with the viewer: a warning on one day, a guardian on another.
