An exceptional, highly specialized historical collection of 39 banknotes from the post-WWI transition period of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (Serbia), alongside a crisp WWII German Occupation note.

Following the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918, the newly formed kingdom faced a severe currency shortage. To validate circulation, Austro-Hungarian Kronen banknotes were localized using unique municipal overstamps, ink seals, and validating stamps across various Serbian towns, districts, military battalions, and court offices.

This extensive lot represents an incredible hoarding of regional history, boasting 30 completely different local issuing authorities and military entities, each featuring distinct seal designs, positions, and ink variations. The lot spans excellent conditions from Fine to Uncirculated, including tough-to-find high-grade pieces (UNC / AUNC) and a highly collectible "Fancy Serial Number" WWII occupation note.
