A boulimic and spontaneous creator, Bruno Cantais lives in Lyon; he explores several techniques, ranging from abstract expressionism à la Rauchenberg or De Kooning, to material projections à la Georges Mathieu, to Pop Art collage or the expressionism of Karel Appel, who traverses the borders between abstract gesture and figurative representation. But his signature remains this physical painting, this material worked by the body, testimony to the artist's intimate monologue.
