Up for auction is a genuine vintage PILOT Custom Sterling Silver fountain pen featuring the celebrated crosshatch "Koushi" (grid) pattern, crafted during the golden era of Japanese metal-bodied pens.

This specimen features an authentic solid 14K (585) gold nib stamped with the factory production code "H1081" (Hiratsuka factory, October 1981) in a precise Fine width. The cap band is clearly engraved with the hallmark "PILOT STERLING SILVER".

Engineered from solid sterling silver, the body displays a handsome natural patina and provides a satisfying, reassuring heft in the hand. The timeless checkered engraving is complemented by gold-plated trim. Compatible with standard Pilot converters (CON-40/CON-20) and ink cartridges.
