“Ingrávido” is a key piece within the Intersticio series. The work portrays the intimacy of a kiss focused on the instant when two faces converge. More than a traditional romantic scene, the composition explores the intermediate space — the threshold of contact — where time and distance seem to freeze. Gestural figurativism with an expressionist bent. The anatomy and the planes of the face are not delimited by rigid lines, but constructed through broad, fluid brushstrokes with a marked texture on the surface.

Vida AMReyes. (Granma, Cuba 1991) discovered at a very young age that drawing was not just a pastime, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated an exceptional technical dresse in painting in oil, acrylic and life drawing, foundations that later would shape her conceptual signature.
Her early years of career took place amid the Cuban cultural fervor, actively participating in youth art salons and group exhibitions. Her work quickly began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions she earned numerous prizes and mentions.
AMReyes’ work is distinguished by a visceral and imposing realism that captures the gaze at once. However, her proposal does not stop at mere photographic mimesis. On anatomy worked with rigor or faces laden with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the wearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.
This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way for her international projection. Over the past decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
