PUBLISHED/AWARDED/EXHIBITED: SHOT ENTIRELY IN CAMERA ON LOCATION WITH ONE MODEL. 15 DIFFERENT SHOTS STITCHED TOGETHER IN POST-PRODUCTION

Dear Collector, 
As an artist, I firmly believe in the value of vision, dedication, hours of hard work, in-camera artistry and mastery of light—not images generated in seconds by a machine. Unfortunately, there are too many AI images out there attempting to pass as photography, with descriptions such as "mastery of advanced digital techniques", "digital collage", etc.

I teach professionals worldwide on how to art direct, how to light their scenes, how to shoot, how to edit. Everything you see in my images, I shot, and it can all be found in the raw images of my camera. I never rely on AI or stock imagery as so many others do.
So when you are bidding on one of my images, you are actually bidding on hours and hours of preparation, prop and set creation, makeup/hair on set, actual shooting and careful post-processing and not on cheap AI imagery created as the result of a few keystrokes. 

The LIMITED EDITION work you are bidding on, belongs to the multi-awarded series "The Lost Swimmer" that I shot in 2016. The series was exhibited in NYC, Tokyo, London and Paris and was sold in limited size editions by Saatchi Gallery. It is found in private collections around the world. The series was featured in the UK TIMES as well as many publications, print and online. The image is an allegory for the self-conflicted individual, the one lost in self-doubt and fear. Fulfillment in the form of swimming is easily within reach, but to the character, it is miles away, simply unattainable. 
EVERYTHING you see in the image was shot on location. My camera was on a tripod, and the model was asked to switch positions and pose. Then in post-production, all 15 different shots were stitched together. So yes, surrealism is indeed possible, without cheap AI tricks!

The artwork is a Giclee Fine Art piece printed on Lustre Art Paper with a subtle pearl-like texture/finish. The giclée printing process uses high-resolution inkjet printers and archival pigment-based inks to produce fine art prints with exceptional detail, color accuracy, and longevity. It is the preferred method for museum-quality reproductions due to its ability to preserve the original artwork’s depth and richness for over 100 years without fading.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

ELENA PARASKEVA was chosen by Saatchi Art as one of the "Artists To Watch". The chairman of IAA, one of the biggest art organizations called her "one of the biggest talents in the photography industry".

Her art has been bought by private museums, is found in private collections around the world and public institutions like Boston Children's Hospital, Australian National University etc. Her work was exhibited even in the European Parliament in Brussels. She is exclusively represented on the commercial site by UK Agency YRH. In Germany she is represented by INTO Gallery.

She was named Photographer Of The Year in 2024, 2023, 2021 and 2018 by four different, distinguished international photography competitions.

She has exhibited her work in Paris, NYC, London, Barcelona, Tokyo, Munich, Budapest, Kuala Lumpur among other cities and has been published on the pages and covers of a multitude of publications including The Guardian UK, The Guardian Australia, The Times, Vogue.it etc

She is now at the point in her career where she is sought after to judge professional competitions around the globe and is invited to speak at photography seminars. She is even a recurrent judge for the FLORIDA MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS.

She is commissioned by ADOBE (the creators of Photoshop) to teach professionals from all over the world on her creative and editing processes.

Amongst her many exhibitions over the years some notable ones were the exhibition of her series on Autism in the European Parliament in Brussels in March of 2023, the exhibition of her series "Vacant Children" at the XIV Florence Biennale in Oct. 2023 at the invitation of the organizers, and the exhibition of her series "A Perfect Life" during Paris Photo Week in Nov. 2023.
