Inna Etuvgi - When We Said "Yes!" - matted

WHEN WE SAID "YES!" Matted Fine Art Photography Print by Inna Etuvgi
Image size: 20x25 cm Mat: 30x40 'WHEN WE SAID "YES!"' is a macro photograph of a Cladonia pyxidata lichen adorned with drops of dew, captured in the forest of Huskvarna in Sweden.

As an art photographer who grew up in the far north, my heart resonates with the delicate beauty of mosses and lichens. Often overlooked, these underrated masterpieces of nature play pivotal roles in our ecosystem. Through my lens, I capture their intricate details, turning them into collectible prints, revealing the art of nature that speaks volumes about the value of these tiny heroes.

This photograph speaks about lichens as a bright testament to synergy. Emerging from the symbiotic relationship between fungus and algae, lichens develop abilities that allow them to thrive when many others cannot.

It is the same when, in communication, both sides say "yes" to each other, creating a system when 1+1 is greater than 2!

And isn't it about a family where partners love and respect each other? This is what I capture in this photo of Cladonias—the moment when two say yes to each other.
PRINT INFORMATION * Medium: Giclée print on Canson Fine Art paper * Edition size: Limited to 25 copies * Details: Signed, numbered, and printed by the artist, with a Certificate of Authenticity * Mounting: Professionally mounted in a pH-neutral mat (passepartout) with archival backing board * Image size: 20 × 25 cm * Actual size: 30 × 40 cm ABOUT THE ARTIST: Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi art photographer whose work explores the delicate balance between nature, humanity, and technology. Growing up in the remote Arctic, where survival depends on sensitivity to nature’s smallest signs, Etuvgi developed a deep respect for the fragile ecosystems she now captures in her art. Living with Aphantasia—an inability to visualise mental images—Etuvgi turns to nature to reflect her inner landscapes, using her camera and digital art to externalise emotions and sensations. Through her macro photography, she magnifies the intricate details of nature's smallest elements, urging viewers to see their beauty, quiet resilience, and essential role in sustaining ecosystems. Her work highlights our bond with nature and challenges the human-centred worldview, reminding us of the interconnectedness of all life and encouraging a more mindful, compassionate relationship with the natural world. Beginning her artistic journey in 2020, Etuvgi was internationally recognised as a finalist for the Arte Laguna Prize in 2022 and received a grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee in 2023. As art critic Tabish Khan notes, “Her work transports us to other worlds—both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature.”
