A Fine Japanese Satsuma Koro (Incense Burner) Signed 'Fuzan' - Meiji Period (1868-1912)
An attractive Japanese Satsuma koro (incense burner) from the Meiji Period (1868-1912). The body is finely hand-painted with a continuous scene of Rakan (disciples of Buddha) and a large dragon, highlighted with rich enamels and extensive gold gilding.
It is signed on the base by the respected maker Fuzan (冨山造). The koro is complete with its original pierced lid featuring a gilded chrysanthemum finial. A high-quality example of export Satsuma ware.
