Islamisk Bronze Ring - Middelalderen 13. - 14. århundrede e.Kr. (Ingen mindstepris)

Medieval Bronze Seal Ring – 13th-14th century AD – 26 mm / 9.33 g A robust and well-preserved medieval bronze seal ring, likely dating from the 13th to 14th century AD. With its solid construction and flattened circular bezel, this ring was almost certainly used for sealing documents or identifying ownership—functions commonly associated with merchants, officials, or Crusader-era administrators. The seal surface appears worn, but its form remains clearly legible, bearing traces of what might have once been an inscribed or engraved symbol. The broad shoulders of the ring and its thick shank suggest a utilitarian purpose, possibly worn on a daily basis. Its heavy weight of over 9 grams and wide band diameter (20 mm inner) indicate it belonged to an adult male of some status. The ring is covered with a green patina, attesting to its centuries of burial and mineralization. A characteristic and tangible artifact from the high medieval period, it may very well relate to the Crusader presence in Europe or the Levant. • Material: Bronze • Dimensions: 26 mm (outer diameter), 20 mm (inner diameter) • Weight: 9.33 g • Date: 13th–14th century AD • Condition: Intact, with heavy wear on bezel; stable patina; no repairs or breaks A powerful relic of medieval authority and identity, echoing the world of fortified castles, sealed letters, and enduring legacy. Provenance: Acquired from an auction house in 2025, previously owned by a collector from the South of Germany, acquired in the 1980s.
