Sjælden heteromorf ammonit - Forstenet skal - Australiceras – Complete Specimen in Nodular Matrix on elegant display
This is an exceptional and hard-to-find specimen of Australiceras, a heteromorph ammonite from the Lower Cretaceous (Aptian stage), found in the Walch River area, Australia.
Unlike the typical planispiral ammonites, heteromorph ammonites such as Australiceras evolved with irregular, loosely coiled shells, making their preservation particularly challenging.
This specimen is remarkably well-preserved and complete up to its juvenile whorls, which is extremely rare for this genus.
Size of ammonite: 8 cm
Nodule dimensions: 12 × 11 × 7 cm
Condition: Natural and unrestored
Locality: Walch River, Australia
Geological age: Lower Cretaceous (Aptian), approx. 120 million years
Specimens of Australiceras in such an intact and aesthetic form are becoming increasingly rare on the market, especially from this classic Australian locality. Collecting has become significantly more restricted, and few pieces of this quality are emerging today.
This is a must-have piece for serious collectors of ammonites or rare Cretaceous fossils, offering both scientific interest and visual appeal.
Securely packed and shipped with full tracking.
Metal display included.
