Islamisk Bronze Ring - Middelalderen 12. - 14. århundrede e.Kr. (Ingen mindstepris)

Islamic Bronze Ring – 12th-14th Century – 22mm x 12mm – 4.93g This medieval Islamic bronze ring displays elegant Kufic-style script on its bezel, likely conveying a name, a benediction, or a brief devotional phrase. The engraving has worn with time, yet the refined calligraphy remains discernible, speaking to the cultural emphasis on script and ornamentation in Islamic art. The face is slightly oval and subtly raised, integrated into a sturdy band that was both functional and symbolic in nature. The patina and wear are consistent with centuries of age, with softened contours and a deep earthen tone. Flattening along parts of the hoop and the worn interior reflect long use, possibly by a single owner. Such rings may have been personal talismans or expressions of faith, and this piece offers a poignant glimpse into the aesthetic and spiritual life of the medieval Islamic world. • Material: Bronze • Dimensions: 22mm x 12mm (inner circle) • Weight: 4.93 grams • Date: 12th–14th century CE • Condition: Good overall condition for its age, with heavy patina, some surface abrasion, and signs of long-term wear. The engraved surface remains mostly legible, though softened with time. A graceful witness to the medieval Islamic tradition, this ring reflects the enduring power of script as both adornment and prayer. Provenance: Acquired from an auction house in 2025, previously owned by a collector from the South of Germany, acquired in the 1980s.
