Masamune Shirow Shirow (Japan, 1961) (real name Masanori Ota) is one of Japan’s most influential manga artists and illustrators. Known for works such as Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed, he is famous for his highly detailed art, cyberpunk themes, and depictions of advanced technology and cybernetic concepts. During the 1990s he also produced many independent illustrations, several of which were later published as large-format posters by European publishers such as 1000 Editions. Cyberdelics is a 1997 illustration published as a large poster (98 × 68 cm) under license from Kodansha Ltd., Tokyo. It does not belong to a specific manga series; rather, it is part of Shirow’s independent cyberpunk-themed artworks from the late 1990s, featuring futuristic aesthetics and stylized female characters—hallmarks of his artistic style in that period. This poster is part of the well-known group of Masamune Shirow prints distributed in Europe by 1000 Editions, many of which were printed in Spain and are now sought after by collectors.
