Oil painting of field ploughing in a frame signed - Anthony Richard Tiffin (Now deceased). Size including frame: 24 x 19 cms. This is an original oil on canvas entitled 'Ploughing at Eynsford, Kent' and is signed by the artist. Tiffin's work predominately concentrated on English rural scenes and he has become highly collectable. His works are periodically available as strictly limited edition prints. Richard Temple is the “Nomme de Brush” of Tony Baxter Tiffin (AKA Anthony Richard Tiffin). He was born in 1940 in the lovely Sussex town of Arundel, England. He schooled at Bognor Regis and went on to Chichester Art College from 1956 to 1957, going on to the Worthing and Brighton Art College from 1958 – 1960. He then, like many famous artists, went on a painting tour in Germany from 1961 to 1962, and whilst there successfully exhibited in Hannover, Munchen Gladbach and Dusseldorf. After returning to England for 6 months, he went to Africa as a graphic artist and to get fresh ideas for his paintings. Finally returning to England in 1971, he settled in a small village near Wadhurst with his wife, Silvia and started painting seriously. His subject matters varied widely from Surrealism, through portraiture, wildlife and 19th century scenes. For some years he worked out of a studio in Horam. His works are in collections all over the world – Germany, Austria, America, Australia, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Holland, France, and South and Central Africa. He was a former member of the International Surrealist Movement & the Society for Art of Imagination, has exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
