Overcoming a difficult childhood, he pursued his artistic ambitions in Paris in 1954, where his career gained early recognition, notably exhibiting at Galerie Drouant David alongside works of artists like Picasso and Chagall. Upon his return to Spain in the 1960s, Ripollés established his creative base in nature, often painting outdoors at his home in Mas de Flors, Castellón. His work is characterized by a unique combination of naïve art influences, vibrant colors, and symbolic expression. His oeuvre includes painting, sculpture, and engraving, with a strong emphasis on themes of vitality, transformation, and universal emotions. His visual language often blends childlike shapes with deeply expressive forms, creating a distinct style that celebrates both simplicity and emotional depth. Known for his sculptures, Ripollés also incorporates rich Mediterranean symbolism, drawing inspiration from themes of life, nature, and personal freedom​.
