Byōbu foldeskærm - En seks-panelers folde-skærm med guldgrund, ahorntræ og efterårsblomster - Japan
A Japanese six-panel screen (byōbu, 屏風) painted on silk with a gold background, depicting an elegant autumn landscape.
At the center stands a maple tree (momiji, 紅葉), its branches spreading across the composition and adorned with leaves in rich tones of red, orange, and green. At the foot of the tree, white chrysanthemums (kiku, 菊), violets, and other grasses emerge from soft green hills, while a stylized stream flows gently through the scene.
The gold ground enhances the foliage and creates a luminous contrast with the deep greens and vibrant autumn colors.
A wooden frame completes and protects the piece.
Signed Kajino Genzan in the lower left corner.
The screen can also be easily mounted on a wall or used as a room divider.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
---The byobu is in good condition, with minor wear consistent with age. There are slightly discolored areas. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
