Two Horses. Objcet of the highest rarity and archeological interest comming from noble provenance. Ancient Greek, Geometric to Archaic period 8th-6th century BC. Bronze. 7 cm height. PROVENANCE: Former collection of Monsieur and Madame E, acquired from the Galerie Carrefour, Pierre and Claude Vérité in the 1980s. CONDITION: Head of the left horse lost. Pierre Vérité Painter turned collector/dealer, who stands at the beginning of the major period of interest in tribal art. Member of Parisian artistic community 'La Ruche'. Opened Galerie Carrefour in 1937, with many famous clients including Pablo Picasso. From 1940s, Vérité's son Claude developed the collection with objects from Africa, Asia and Oceania. The private Vérité collection was auctioned in Paris, June 2006; a famous 'Fang Ngil' mask was its centrepiece. Notes: - The piece includes authenticity certificate. - The piece includes Spanish Export License (Passport for European Union) - If the piece is destined outside the European Union a substitution of the export permit should be requested, can take between 1-2 weeks maximum. - The seller guarantees that he acquired this piece according to all national and international laws related to the ownership of cultural property.
