Elegant and finely cast Art Nouveau hand mirror in solid gilded bronze, richly decorated with classical motifs typical of the period. The frame features: • A winged cherub with outstretched wings beneath the mirror • A female mask/head at the top of the frame • Flowing organic ornaments and scrollwork throughout • A sculptural gilded bronze handle with shield cartouche • Original oval mirror glass (with age wear) • Backside covered with period green felt The mirror displays detailed gilded bronze casting with a warm, aged patina. These mirrors were produced in France and Germany around 1900–1920 as luxury boudoir or dressing table accessories. Gilded bronze examples are considerably rarer than pot metal or spelter versions and were manufactured by higher-quality workshops. A decorative and collectible Art Nouveau object.
