Gilt bronze Corpus of Christ with expressive facial features and well-modelled anatomy. Warm patina and traces of age consistent with the 17th century. Originally mounted on a crucifix.
This type of Spanish corpus was used for private devotion or on smaller altar crucifixes. Collectors greatly appreciate these figures due to their emotional realism and historical importance.
Condition:
Good for its age. Small losses left hand and surface wear consistent with age. Patina untouched and authentic.
