We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity. 【Product details】 This is a Showa period samurai armour set consisting of a helmet, a face mask, a pair of shoulder guards, and a cuirass complete with kusazuri. Although the size allows it to be worn in principle, it is recommended as a display piece. The set is handmade and regarded as a non-professional reproduction armour, yet it is very solidly constructed and the overall workmanship is quite good. The shoulder guards, cuirass and kusazuri are made of iron coated with lacquer. The face mask is crafted from leather, and the helmet is also mainly leather with some metal plates incorporated. The helmet features a kuwagata-dai pierced with a chrysanthemum crest, supporting a triple-forked kuwagata. The fukigaeshi on both sides of the helmet are decorated with chrysanthemum crests as well. The inner fabric of the cuirass is decorated with a chrysanthemum crest and phoenix motifs near the top, with plum blossom designs below. Along the sides, there is a pattern of interlocking circles, known as shippō. The chrysanthemum crest is traditionally associated with longevity and vitality. The phoenix symbolises rebirth and auspicious fortune. Plum blossoms represent resilience and the arrival of spring. The interlocking circles motif expresses harmony, connection and continuity. The armour shows minor age-related wear, including rubbing, small scratches, slight lacquer losses, some discolouration and general signs of use, but overall remains in good used condition.
