Offered here are two bottles of Banyuls Grand Cru 1999, a distinguished fortified sweet wine from the renowned Banyuls appellation in Roussillon, France.
Produced on the exceptional schist slopes overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Banyuls Grand Cru is celebrated for its remarkable ageing potential and its rich, complex character. After more than two decades of maturation, this 1999 vintage represents a fine example of this prestigious Vin Doux Naturel.
The wine displays evolved aromas of baked prunes, dried fruits, figs, cocoa, nuts and subtle oxidative notes, supported by a silky texture and a long, harmonious finish. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif, with chocolate desserts, blue cheeses, or as a contemplative after-dinner wine.
