Laurence Aëgerter (1972, Marseille) lives and works in Amsterdam. She studied Art History at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and Visual Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
In a continuous process that fluctuates between photography, projects in the public space and artists' books, Aëgerter addresses her fascination with the permanent transformation inherent to the essence of things. She researches the archive through which our collective memory is formed and uses it for strategic reinterpretations of existing sources. She repeatedly questions the perception of reality and art.
In this photo series 8 groups of 8 people were photographed on one day between 9 and 5.
Laurence Aegerter donated this work to the Rosa Spier House. this auction.
