The actress needed to take rest during her pregnancy advised by her doctors in 1968. As she was bored, she started to prepare all kinds of meals and to describe these (with the help of her secretary). Via a befriended director the notes landed at the desk of a gastronome/journalist/writer and the idea was born to make a cookbook.

She also tells how she makes her dinners into something unforgettable, about wines (with an anecdote about Yugoslavian president Tito), etiquette and smoking, etiquette and hands and the husband behind the stove.
