W.H. Maxwell - The life of Wellington - 1883

I have here for sale a book entitled THE LIFE OF WELLINGTON by W H MAXWELL New Edition Revised, Condensed and Completed with Twelve Illustrations in Permanent Photography Numerous Engravings on Wood, and Plan of The Battle of Waterloo published by Bickers & Son, London, in 1883. This history of the life of Wellington includes 12 full-page b/w plates and a colour fold-out plan of The Field of Waterloo at 7.pm June 18, 1815. There are also decorative headers, footers and initial letters.

Blue pictorial cloth boards with gilt lettering and illustrations on the front board and spine. Minor marks on the rear board. Gilt page edges. Name of previous owner on the front endpaper. Light foxing to a few pages. Both hinges partially cracked but all pages are firm and the book is in very good condition. viii, 387 pages. 22 x 15 cm.
