Labelled Ferdinandus Gagliano - - Viola
You are bidding on a very rare & old viola, labeled Ferdinandus Gagliano filius Nicolai fecit Neap. 1799. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some small repaired cracks on top and ribs. The viola has an excellent high to medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of strongly wave flamed maple wood with matched sides. Rich golden amber varnish remains in good condition. The whole length of the viola is 675 mm and the back 408 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 195 mm; middle bouts: 138 mm; lower bouts: 243 mm. The instrument has good rosewood set up and master made Aubert bridge. The sound is very deep, rich, powerful. Shipping by DHL / FedEx is possible and would be claimed according to your personal requirements
