The first physics textbook on Newton's physical laws (principles/rules).
Regardless of its interest in Newton, the work is important for illustrating a number of physical apparatuses used at that time.

Sir Isaac Newton ([ˌaɪzək ’njuːtən]; December 25, 1642 – January 4, 1643 in Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth in Lincolnshire; March 20, 1726 – March 31, 1727 in Kensington) was an English polymath. He worked at the University of Cambridge, was responsible for the Royal Mint, and was President of the Royal Society. Due to his achievements in the fields of physics and mathematics, Newton is considered one of the most important natural scientists.
Newton is the author of the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, in which he described universal gravitation with his law of gravitation and formulated the laws of motion, thus laying the foundation for classical mechanics. Almost simultaneously with Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Newton developed infinitesimal calculus. He is also known for his achievements in the field of optics: his advocacy of the particle theory of light and his explanation of the light spectrum.
As only later became public knowledge, he also engaged in theological, historical and alchemical research.
