About the artist:

Robert Doisneau (1912 - 1994) is certainly the 20th century photographer whose images have left the most mark, especially his black and white photographs of Paris and its suburbs after the war. He is at ease in the street, which he transforms into a sensitive surface, a worthy heir to Eugène Atget (1857-1927) whose images he admires for their "rusticity that defies time."
