Artist and writer Shelly Block has been creating projects for Walt Disney properties for nearly 30 years. Her stories featuring Donald Duck’s tempestuous personality have been reprinted in scores of languages around the globe. Her tales have been nominated for various Harvey Awards in the United States, including “Best Story in a Graphic Album” in 2008. Shelly has run Art Quest, a small teaching art studio in Pennsylvania over the past 15 years as well. Many of her students have gone on to become professional artists. As well as skills in writing duck stories, Shelly is a skilled hairdresser, decorater and 3d artist. She and her artist husband Patrick regularly teach workshops on Comic Creation at various comic shows, universities and libraries around the globe.
