CHÂTEAU MARGAUX 1970 - The 1970 harvest was very large in volume, benefiting from excellent weather conditions throughout the summer and right up to the end of the harvest. The vat room equipment, particularly the number of vats, was not adapted to such a large harvest, even in the finest châteaux. Therefore, the vinification conditions were not always ideal. Indeed, the 1970 Château Margaux is a good testament to the quality of the vintage; its nose is complex, well-evolved, intense, and quite harmonious. A fine and pleasant impression on the palate, this great wine is ready to drink now, but it also has good ageing potential, and even potential for improvement, as it tends to open up and blossom in the glass. This bottle comes from an original case my father purchased in the 1970s. Always well stored at a good temperature of 13 degrees Celsius.
