Hello Up for auction is the ULTRA RARE Sean Connery-signed example of You Only Live Twice - one of Connery's most iconic movie performances as James Bond. The signature is a tipped-on card, with the card showing 'The Old Course, St Andrews' - dated 19th-22nd July 1984 (Thursday-Sun) - presumably got by a fan while Connery was playing at an event there. Although I can't find a record of Connery being there that day (it was pre-internet!) - I have every reason to believe this is completely genuine, as Connery frequently played at the ground - at charity and other events - and I can imagine this signature was signed on the event programme, and then later glued in to a book that someone had. I can't 100% vouch for this, so it's a case of bidders doing their own due diligence, but to me, the signature looks like other signatures I've seen, and with it being associated with the St Andrews golf ground, I'm confident this is good (it's why I initially bought it in the first place myself). The card looks like its been glued over a previous owner's name written into the book, but I can't really deduce any more than this. It's sold as shown. The book itself is actually a really nice example - straight, clean boards, with clean inner pages, showing none of the usual signs of foxing. The jacket is fair, with the face and back good, but the spine damaged. But all told, I think it shows well, and while it's a first edition, second impression, it's the signature that I think is really what makes this book stand out. thanks for looking, and happy bidding....
