De winkel was gevestigd in het magazijn "De Blauwe Bril", waar W.J. Lauwers vooral brillen, pince-nez, toneel- en reiskijkers, barometers en thermometers verkocht.
Lauwers verhuisde in 1890 van Hoorn naar Amsterdam. Hij woonde en werkte toen op de hoek van de Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal en de Gravenstraat. Er kwam later een filiaal op Heiligeweg 53. De firma bleef hier in de Gravenstraat brillen verkopen tot het faillissement in 1982.

Lauwers moved from Hoorn to Amsterdam in 1890. He lived and worked at the corner of Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and Gravenstraat. Later, a branch was opened at Heiligeweg 53. The company continued selling glasses here on Gravenstraat until bankruptcy in 1982.
