A. Driessen - Tin box - Tin - no minimum price
Unique tin can by A. Driessen.
A. Driessen was a former Dutch producer of cocoa and chocolate products and is a Dutch brand of chocolate. A. Driessen's factory was established in Rotterdam since 1820.
In 1871, the company received the designation of Royal Warrant Holder. In 1893 and 1900, the factory was expanded, and around 1900, Driessen was one of the leading chocolate companies in the Netherlands. As a result of a crisis in the cocoa market in 1907, raw material prices rose sharply. By the end of 1919, more than 600 people were employed here. The stock market crash of 1929 and the subsequent Great Depression put the enterprise out of business. In 1935, the Bredase chocolate factory Kwatta took over Driessen. The company was shut down, and production was moved to the facility in Princenhage, which opened in 1921. After more than a century, the typically Rotterdam company came to an end.
