Elegantly Papered

Elegantly Papered is a curated fashion magazine archive of 70,000 vintage magazines and lookbooks based on the southeast coast of England. The collection spans over 100 years of fashion and culture from the late 1800's to the present day. The archive’s primary theme is fashion with substantial complementary collections of esoteric arts, counterculture and media titles ranging from extremely rare runs of pre-war Vogue, to complete sets of genre-defining titles like Nova, i-D and Fleur Cowles' Flair. ElegantlyPapered regularly provides material for international fashion houses, photographers, artists and private collectors, as well as lending to museums such as The National Portrait Gallery, V&A and Design Museum in London. Magazines are increasingy sought after as the new accessible way to collect art, and many hard-to-find titles have tripled in value since Elegantly Papered started collecting around 20 years ago.
