Figura - Veress Miklós (1929–2016) – Art Deco Calf Figurine - Porcelana

Veress Miklós (1929–2016) – Art Deco Calf Figurine Hungary, c. 1930s–1940s Charming Art Deco ceramic calf designed by Miklós Veress (1929–2016), Hungarian ceramic artist and porcelain designer. A delightful small sculpture with a strong period character and refined artistic presence. The figurine is finished with a delicate, hand-applied glaze, emphasizing the soft, stylized form typical of Central European Art Deco animal figures. Marks: The underside bears the pre-World War II Drasche “D” factory mark, along with a handwritten artist’s signature, confirming its authenticity and early production period. Historical Context The Drasche factory, active since the 19th century, became one of Hungary’s most important porcelain workshops. During the 1930s and 1940s, many prominent designers and artists collaborated with Drasche — often the same creatives who later worked for Herend and Zsolnay, sometimes simultaneously. This era produced some of Central Europe’s most elegant and collectible Art Deco porcelain figures, highly sought after today by collectors.
